So you recognize the problem as described and are interested!
Often heard questions/remarks on this initiative:

We are all competing with each other for assignments

§ Indeed we all have our own network and contacts but often not the same ones. Many ears and eyes see and hear much more than one pair. This is the advantage of combining efforts.

§ Often, posted assignments may not be in your particular area of expertise and could be interesting to another member. Vice-versa - another member may identify assignments suitable for you - a "win-win competition" of a kind!

What is the advantage of sharing my network with others - and give it away?

§ Often teams are required for assignments - finding supplementing competencies and expertise avails the formation of strong teams

§ Potentially network members indeed compete with each other but: this is already the case anyway. However - how much do you really 'see' on your own - as many assignments are not even published on public sites?

§ Participating in the network will not prohibit you to apply for assignments individually.
